Workshop Details

In this class, students will learn the basics of creating yarn with a spinning wheel. The first session will cover mechanics and single ply yarn. Students will take home a wheel to practice for the week. In the second session, students will learn to make two-ply yarn, as well as explore other techniques.


  • Instructor: Clara Noomah

  • Location and Dates: October 5th: Weaver’s and Spinner’s Guild October 12th: The Nook at Pioneer Park

  • Time: 10am-12:30pm

  • Skill Level: Beginner (minimum age: 10-13 with an adult, 14+ alone)

  • Prior Skills Needed: None

  • Materials Fee: $30 materials, + $100 deposit to borrow a spinning wheel (deposit invoice will be sent separately from registration) ** Students are welcome to bring their own spinning wheel if they have one
