Workshop Details

In this class, students will learn the basics of creating yarn with a spinning wheel. The first session will cover mechanics and single ply yarn. Students will take home a wheel to practice for the week. In the second session, students will learn to make two-ply yarn, as well as explore other techniques.

Date, Time, Location: **Please note sessions 1 and 2 of this workshop will take place at different locations!**

Session 1: October 5th: Weaver’s and Spinner’s Guild, 10am -12:30pm Session 2: October 12th: The Nook at Pioneer Park, 10am - 12:30pm


Skill Level: Beginner (minimum age: 10-13 with an adult, 14+ alone)

Prior Skills Needed: None


Workshop Fee: $100*

Additional Materials Fee: $30 materials, + $100 deposit to borrow a spinning wheel (deposit invoice will be sent separately from registration) ** Students are welcome to bring their own spinning wheel if they have one.

The funds available for these discounts are limited and it is our hope that those who need it most will be able to benefit. We ask that you keep the broader community in mind and if you’re able to pay in full, please do - your extra dollars will support someone who is unable to.
