Workshop Details
In this class we’ll explore a simple cord-weaving method, long-used since the Viking age. We’ll also discuss the historical and cultural significance of utilizing local materials.
This class will be divided into two sessions. Session 1 will include dying locally-sourced fiber with local natural plant dyes and lucet weaving basics. Session 2 will go into more weaving practice with our dry, dyed yarn and further exploration into utilizing natural objects as tools and materials for weaving. Students interested in additional time can meet with instructor at Weavers and Spinners Guild for further support.
This class is great for kids and adult/child pairs or siblings ages 6 and up. Children under 12 should be accompanied by a registered adult learner.
