Workshop Details
This class provides an introduction to different types of silk, their properties and skills for successfully spinning silk. Students will have the opportunity to practice silk spinning techniques on a variety of different types of silks and silk preparations.
You'll leave with sample cards and additional silk fiber to continue spinning on your own!

Age Range: 12 to adult

Skill Level/Prior Skills Needed: Beginner, must be able to do basic spinning on a wheel, e-spinner or drop spindle
Materials Students Must Bring:
spinning wheel
bobbins for plying
lazy kate
niddy noddy (sample size is nice but not necessary)
any other accessories the spinner usually uses for spinning
Workshop Fee: $75*
Materials Fee: $40
